AUBURN, Ala.- A controlled burn in Lee County, as permitted by the Alabama Forestry Commission, will be conducted tomorrow, Jan. 4. The burn will involve approximately 40 acres outside of the city limits and southwest of the Cotswolds subdivision. The burn is expected to begin around 11 a.m.

Residents may observe smoke in the area during this time. Local authorities are aware of the permitted burn.
